SARASOTA, FL – A multibillion-dollar, Charlotte, North Carolina-based mixed-use developer, Crescent Communities, recently announced that work is underway on two new Sarasota, Florida residential communities that, upon completion, will offer over 500 combined housing units in addition to significant retail components.

The two projects – located on 15560 Render Way in south Sarasota – are called Render Legacy Trail, which is a multifamily project, and Harmon Legacy Trail, a build-to-rent community. Groundbreakings for both developments took place earlier in March, according to Crescent Communities Multifamily Managing Director of Florida Tim Graff, who said that the two projects are slated to be part of an overall master-planned residential community that will offer a combination of housing, apartments, build-to-rent townhomes, and six acres of retail space.

“We are thrilled to have reached this milestone for Render Legacy Trail. Render offers residents thoughtfully crafted communities that are rich in character at a more approachable price point,” Graff said. “The adjacent build-to-rent single-family offering, Harmon Legacy Trail, will also provide residents the opportunity to live in new construction homes. Together, these communities highlight Crescent Communities’ commitment to growing strategically in Florida and the Sun Belt.”

Render Legacy Trail Will feature numerous amenities for its residents, including a central lobby and leasing area, self-service package area, a 24-hour fitness center, and multipurpose rooms that could be used for work-related purposes. The homes in the community will “feature functional design elements that will intentionally contribute to the space’s overall feel of a home, rather than a typical apartment unit,” Graff said.

In contrast, Harmon Legacy Trail will offer 76 build-to-rent townhomes that will offer buyers floor plan options that range from three-to-four-bedrooms.

In addition to Sarasota, Crescent Communities is also developing multifamily communities in Tampa and Orlando, and an industrial project in Bradenton
